Lives and works in Vancouver, BC
Sarah Green is a painter and illustrator currently based in Vancouver, Canada. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and received a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014. She received her MFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2021.
Her work centers on narrative, be it through metaphor-based paintings or working illustratively with books. She is a full-time freelance illustrator, primarily working editorially and within children’s literature. She has just finished her 10th picture book.
In her paintings, her work explores mortality, decoration, repetition, and life cycles. Her recently completed thesis used concepts of theoretical physics to discuss death and consciousness, told across a series of large shaped frames cut on a CNC.
